Oracle and Apache in different server

Hi all, how can i build Apache 1.3.12 with PHP 4,to include Oracle 8 and 8i support without installing my Oracle Server in the same machine as the web server reside.

FYI, my oracle servre is run on Compaq Alpha Tru 64 GS140 model with 10GB of memory and SAN as a storage, i will be more that happy if i can get php talk to my oracle box, so that i can convience my management to stick with apache and php instead of iis and asp,

Hi,

You'll need the Oracle client libs ( Libs and headers files of course ) on the Linux box.
Get them from Oracle.
Next compile php this way:
./configure --with-oci8=$ORACLE_HOME ...

You may download them from technet.
