Not able to connect to MySQL

I need great help with connect database.....I was testing database connectivity and there was a long pause with an error that came out:
Attempting to connect...

Warning: Host 'locathost' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in db_mysql.php3 on line 31

Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in db_mysql.php3 on line 37

I uncommented all the *.dll extensions in the config.php file and there were no errors on database parsing. I'm tried both Win98 as well as NT to connect another MySQL server which is Linux OS...Is there some extension or module that I need to get this running? Many help is needed...fully appreciated.

This is probably because host "localhost" is by not allowed to connect to your database server.
Make sure your mysql server allows your php host to connect to it.
