php4/apache/mod_perl install fails

I am trying to install PHP4.0.2, apache 1.3.12 and mod_perl 1.24 on a redhat 6.2 box. I am trying to use slashcode. I have everything installed, but mod_perl pages don't seem to work. Has anyone had this problem? webpages work fine, but no mod_perl stuff.

That\\'s the reason I am asking my question. I don\\'t know why it is not working. I have the packages compiled, but apache will not work with mod_perl and PHP at the same time.

Apache core was dumping at first. Tried a recompile. Now mod_perl stuff is just not working with slashcode. Could it be PHP4.0.2 causing the problem? Maybe a bad httpd.conf file? I have tried to replace them all.
