Hi : I run mysql Distrib 3.21.30, for sun-solaris2.5.1 on sparc want to upgrade it to 3.23.23 or higher for replication support. what do i need for this ?? a re-install or some patches ???

I upgraded by re-installing. The best info about how to upgrade is on the mysql website ofcourse.
do i need to reconfigure PHP/Apache after mySQL reinstall ???
