Help w/ GD on win98, PWS

Trying to get php_gd.dll to work on my PWS setup under win98. I've read and followed all the relevant threads here on the boards, but with no success as of yet. I have:

placet the php_gd.dll into my php4 directory
updated the php.ini file
rebooted

any help would be appreciated!

If you give more information, maybe we can help you better. I and several others here have GD working on Win98/PWS, so one of us ought to be able to help you.

First, you say you have updated the php.ini file but didn't give any details. You probably did it correctly, but just to make sure:
1) Did you change the extension_dir to C:\php4?
2) Did you uncomment extension=php_gd.dll in the Windows Extensions list?
3) If you have other extensions active, is php_gd.dll first on the list?

Share what code you are trying to execute and what behavior or error message(s) you observe. Otherwise it is tough to help.

Changed those things in the php.ini file, but with no success. The code I'm trying to run is:

header("Content-type: image/png");
$image = imagecreate(200,200);
imagepng($image);

and the error message I get is:
 
Fatal error:

Call to undefined function: imagecreate() in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\GDtest.php on line 3

Okay, nothing wrong with your code. The problem seems to be that the php_gd.dll is not getting loaded. You can confirm by running phpinfo(). The GD section should be listed right after the PHP Core section and right before the Standard section.

Do you know if you got a php_gd.dll that matches your version of PHP? Where did you get the php_gd.dll? What version of PHP are you running? If you are running 4.0.2, I can send you a dll that should work with it.

Tried calling phpinfo() but GD wasn't listed.
I'm running php4, downloaded 4.02 but havent switched it yet (can I just switch out the php.exe files or do i need a fresh install of the whole package?)I downloaded the GD binary from PHP everywhere(php.weblogs.com).
