PHP4 install - can not guess host type

Hello, wandering if you could help me... I'm trying to install PHP4 on a linux machine, but when I try to ./configure... it gives me this error message:

./configure --with-mysql --with-apache=/usr/include/apache --enable-track-vars

checking host system type... configure: error: can not guess host type; you must specify one

do you have any suggestions??

You can try adding something like:
./configure --host=i686-unknown-linux o
./configure --host=i386-redhat-linux

I think you can figure out with host type do you have looking into: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/

But i am not sure.
