help me with smtp

Because I am a Cinese,my English is very poor! I must say sorry at first.But I want
everyone who have saw this question can understand me .I'm pograming php under win2000+apache+php+mysql.
Now I want to use function mail().But I don't have smtp and I don't know how to design the file php.ini.
How can I get smtp and how to design this ?

You shoul download a smtp m,ail server for windows.
