Hello All, I have an Oracle/Solaris on one machine. I want to run Apache and PHP on a Linux box.
My Question: How do I compile PHP so that I don't get the following message:
checking Oracle version... configure: error: Oracle-OCI8 needed libraries not found
Please reply to my email address: alewis@ito.atmel.com
Thanks in advance,
Andy
No, wait, if anyone is replying to his email, please reply here too! I need this same information, please share.
You should do a search of the forums. There are lots of posts on just this. Here is a thread where I answered just this:

If you search I am sure you will find many more answers.

You should verify that the path of oracle is correct.
In your .bashrc of .profile you should have this line
ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/Ora_Home export ORACLE_HOME
then you run the config of PHP
$ ./configure --with-oci8=$ORACLE_HOME
