405 Error

Looking for a few hours for this problem.

I just use a local 192 for this server. When I post this page from the PHP Essentials book I get this message. Apache is up and running and everything has been compiled right. Some people say on the net it is a .htacces problem in the var/home/www/httpd.conf file but I can see this in BSD, and need a step by step explaination to resurrect this problem. Well thanks if anyone can help.

The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /do_showfielddef.php3.

Dig through your Apache Configuration files and search for POST

It should be in a <Limit> tag somewhere either in the apache config files or as others have told you, it can be in the .htaccess files.

<Limit POST PUT GET>
order allow,deny
allow frm all
</Limit>
