PHP 4.04 with PWS 4

Yes I Know, i'am not the first but ... happy new year ! (from France).

I've got a problem with php 4.04 (and 4.03 too) : i've launch the setuip file on my Win98/PWS4 PC to install PHP and, even if my php.ini file is correctly set up, i get this error message :
http 1.1 error 500 ...
my php file is just a echo command ....

Is anybody install php on a win 98 PC here ??? please ...

i found out that the easiest way of installing PHP on win 9x / nt / 2k is with a server named httpd, by omnicron (available at http://www.omnicron.ab.ca)
they have php build in to the server(php is included with the installation and no further config is needed), there is no doubt that this server isnt as powerful as website, apache, iis, or even pws but its the easiest php installation on windows...

PHP doesn't usually give errors without meaningful descriptions (you can turn this off and are recommended to for production websites). If you aren't getting the full message, that means that your browser may be prohibiting the error message from getting reported. I know that Microsoft Internet Explorer has a `feature' which displays its own 500 Interal Server Error page whenever it gets a page that is less than so many bytes. If you are using Internet Explorer, you can turn this off (Tools -> Internet Options-> Advanced -> Browsing -> Show friendly HTTP error messages) to get the full error description.

I am thinking if this could be because of the browscap.ini file under php dir. In installation instructions, it suggests to point this to the browscap.ini under windows dir. ANy comment.??

thank for your advices..... i decided to re-install all (pws and php) and to follow the instructions ....

finally, the is another error now :
Fata eror : unable to find "[my file].php" Unknown ... etc... well i seem not to be the only one who get this error message.

But i never read a good tip to succeed.

Is anybody know how to solve this new trouble please ?

PWS was so big (and destroyed my old winsock on the Win95 box I tried it on) it was not an option. Give BadBlue a try. Very tiny install. Server is about 60K.

Has system tray support so you can control the server easily.
