index.php gives blank page

I wrote a testpage: index.php with the contens: <? phpinfo(); ?>

When i open the browser the page is showed blank. When i look at the code it looks the same at above.

In the begin even php worked fine. But when i reinstalled Mysql it went wrong with php. I really don't get it.

My apache config is ok. But i think it doesn't run the script. It reconize the php extension but doesn't execute it.

Information: Redhat 7 , Mysql, php4 , apache 1.31.4 ,mod_ssl and openssl

Not sure if this is the problem but, try putting <?php rather than <?
