Respecter Sir/Madam
inspite of trying many times i was not able to install php & apache on linux. i am able to gunzip apache. i.e the first step as given in the manual. but when i type the second step as per the php manual, its giving an error. so please give some details of how to install apache and php with the errors that might occur.

I was running fine with PHP 4.0.2 and Apache 1.3 on Windows 98 until I installed PHP version 4.0.4. Since then I've been unable to execute any .php script.
Any suggestion ?
I think I've followed every installation instruction to the "T"
