Installing GD for php on Win98 w/ PWS

Hi =)

I'm new to php and installed it on my home pc running Win98 and MS PWS. I only want to use it to learn and to test scripts. I installed PHP from http://www.php.net/ with the installshield installer and it works fine. But i wanted to add GD (http://www.boutell.com/gd) to it for image manipulation.

The GD page seems to have instructions on using it in other programs but I can't figure out how to use it with php. Do I have to download the php source and recompile it including the gd files? I have VC++ 6.0.

Any help with this would be great. And detailed step by step would be best hehe =) Are there any web pages with instructions?
