Uninstall MySQL on Linux

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how I can uninstall MySQL. We have installed it and its gone horribly wrong. We are using Redhat 7 & MySQL 3.23.33. Can we just install over the top or do we need to uninstall first?

you must be a windows user 🙂

rm -rf /usr/local/mysql

thats all.

you can also use rpm

rpm -e mysql-3.23.22

or better yet if you have X11 installed use the GUI tools gnorpm or kpackage
