PHP4 recompile in RH6.2

I try to recompile with my php4
--with-imap,during I rebuild the apache source ,when i come to 'make'
its give me 2 error..something like undefined
in imap..bla bla, I just couldn't procede to
the next type of installation
anyway i am runing RH6.2
But if i recompile my php4 without
this --with-imap, everything work fine for me

can anyone tell me how should i solve the problem?
