I just installed MySQL-3.23.36-1 server and client under redhat 7. The first time I tried safe_mysqld the server came up and was running fine as tested using the mysqladmin tool. After a reboot however the daemon failed to load during boot up and I can no longer get safe_mysqld to keep the server up. The error I get is:
010329 23:37:32 mysqld started
010329 23:37:32 /usr/sbin/mysqld: Can't find file: './mysql/host.frm' (errno: 13)
010329 23:37:32 mysqld ended
I think I'm running safe_mysqld from the wrong place but now I can't figure out where I'm supposed to run it from.
