I'm having a problem getting the aspell/pspell functions to work. I finally got everything to compile, but if I try to use pspell functions within PHP, I get the following in the Apache error log:
/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: '/usr/local/lib/libpspell_aspell.a' is not an ELF file

I have a feeling I need to change some parameter on the install, but I am clueless as to what. Any ideas would be very much appreciated!
My environment: PHP 4.0.2 / Apache 1.3.12 / pspell-.12.1 / aspell-.33.5 / Linux 2.0.38 i686
