Linux install hangs (RH 7.0)

I have recently tried to install Linux Red Hat 7.0, and felt confident enough to go for a Custom install - so I could partition myself and make choices on the packages I wanted installed.
I used FIPS to partition and set it up like:

/boot - 25mb
/ - 19gb
/swp - 500mb

However, I get to the screen where it starts to install the packages, but before it does this a popup box 'pops up' saying

'Formatting filesystem'

This then just sits there for over 20 minutes - at which point I rebooted - and seems to have hanged.

I then did a workstation install and everything worked okay.

But I would really like to install via Custom, as I don't like some of the default options during the WS install.

Did you tell it to check for bad sectors? If so, the formatting can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. and the install won't show any progress or change until the format is finished. Next time, go get a ham sandwich and take a walk instead of rebooting and when you get back, it will likely be done. P.s. if you've got dietary restrictions on eating pork, then get a turkey or beef sandwich. :⁾

Well scotty,
It's either that we "don't have enought power"
or that we waited for ~3 hours on a III-550 and had NO result's.
It's so annoying that you DON'T really have ANY indicater for the progress if there is such.
