Running php4 on Windows 98

It doesn't seem possible unless you have Personal Web Server installed (at least). Is this correct?

I'm using php Coder as an editor on Win 98, and I'd like to be able to execute my php scripts on my desktop without having to upload them to the web to see if they'll work right.

Any direction on properly installing php4 on Windows 98 (if I need to install Personal Web Server or whatever), any resources for doing that or any 'how-to' steps would be greatly appreciated.

u don't have to install pws, please install Xitami Web Server and PHP . it will work fine.

but the problem is i am facing some problem in connecting xitami,php,mysql although it was working fine when i used php3.

Go to http://www.firepages.com.au/devindex.htm and then go to downloads.

You can download a complete Apache/PHP/MySQL package that you just unzip and install. Use it myself and had the whole thing up and running in 20 minutes.
