PHP4 /Win2k install, i need help here:)

well i have configured the .ini file and the apache httpd.conf file, but when i run the "http://localhost/Scripts/PHP/phpfile" i get a cgi error(the specified CGI aplicattion misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers..."
i have also tied ""http://localhost/Scripts/PHP/php.exe/phpfile" and in this case it just hangs there...
anyone? i have been fighting with this for days, but i have not been able to get php to work yet...please help!

this is running on a windows 2000 pro system, with apache 1.3.19

well, i dont know how to fix your problem directly, but I'm hosting my own website on my win2k pro machine that's running php4 on IIS and it's working fine. If all and all, id say lose win2kpro, but if you cant do that (like me), just lose apache unless you need it for something IIS doesnt have. and installation into IIS is pretty simple, far more simple than on apache.

I'm not lucky, got 98 and old NT to work with. I think you can try by installing PHPTrial from http://www.phpgeek.com or equivalent. Then study its configuation after test it.
It works for me, then you can uninstall it and download latest components (i.e. Apache, PHP and MySQL) then tailor the configuration files to your needs.

well, i cant loose the win2kpro cause its in my laptop, and the reason i want to have php on my laptop is because i'm a designer and i'm starting to use php more and more, but when i go out on the road with my laptop and i want to show a php site to a client i cant show them from my laptop🙁 this is buming me out, and i have spent a lot of time tring to get this to work with no success, and i was able to configure php in my linux servers in minutes...i dont get it? how can it be this hard? i have now taken out the apache , and i have the IIS server running, everything seams to be working exept the php!#@! i'm still getting the "CGI headers" error...
please help, help , help...
