PHP install on Limux

I've installed Suze 7.1 which comes with Apache 1.3 and PHP 4.
When I run netscape on the localhost, everything goes all right. But when I open a .php file, netscape ask me to save it, instead of executing the PHP modules...
Please help!

PS: also I don't know where the php.ini file should be placed (/etc/httpd or /usr/local/lib ?)

Sounds like PHP isn't actually installed.

Make sure that the installation is complete, including the modifications to httpd.conf. Most important:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3 .phtml .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
