I need some people to test a software package I created. Here is the info:
FoxServ is a free Apache / mySQL / PHP installer package for Windows. FoxServ features the latest versions of all included pacakges, user defined configuration during installation, PHP as a module, PEAR, the Zend Optimizer, and phpMyAdmin. Anyone interested in writing PHP code for their website, running a web site off their own computer, or mySQL programming should check FoxServ out. It is easy to have your website up and running in 5 minutes! It is currently at version .3-RC1 and I need user feedback before v1.0 is released. check it out at:

Thanks

    wow... did the web install.

dont know what this install does, but got my PHP working which i couldnt get to work correctly on one machine after readin WROX\'s book on PHP beginners!

but to have PHP and MySQL in one bundle plus APACHE!!! dang... triple threat. now comes the hard part of making sure it\'s accessible by those who i want by those NOT wanted.

    thanks for this pointer...

Have you checked the license agreement on the Optimizer? If I recall correctly, they restrict redistribution which is why the binary distributions from php.net don't include it and why PHPTriad doesn't include it.

Well I just read it a second time and section 2.3 grants me the right to include the code as long as I do not charge for my product, give Zend credit for their software, and my users accept the Zend License. I think I have that all covered. :-D

That's right. The "can't charge for it" clause. I had been contemplating offering PHPTriad for sale on CD as a fundraiser as well as the free download and including it on that CD would have been a problem.
