Problem with Apache on PHPtriad for W95

OK, first I installed phptriad, and got the apache server. At first it failed because of missing dll's, but I got those now.

When I start the apache server however, it doesn't appear to keep running.
Is there any way I can see it is running?

Cause when I try to access the localhost in IE, there is no response...

OK, I installed the Apache launcher and obviously my server isn't running.
A quick looksee in the error log returned this...

[Fri May 18 16:22:37 2001] [crit] make_sock: failed to get a socket for port 80

Windows thing?
How do I solve it...?

Am I the only one so stupid to try and run php and apache on W95?

1) either something else is using port 80, unlikely because then at least something would show up in your browser

2) OR, if you're running win95 OSR2 you may need to install the wsock2 update. install microsoft dial up networking patch 1.3 (msdun1.3) which should also install the wsock 2 update.

No....u r not stupid.
Now aday,.. there are alot of web hosting provide MySQl and Codfusion service.
And most of them run the apache server on winNT.

So,..It is reasonable to try it in your pc with win95.
