Blank result <? phpinfo (); ?>

After much wrestling around, I think I might have PHP installed ... except that my little "Hello World" script isn't doing what I would expect of it.

Prior to re-working my PHP install (via Apache Tool Box 1.5.26 with darned near everything installed) I would get the following as a dump (file is named phptest.php). Now I get the words "TODAY'S DATE:" ... but the php code never displays. I see neither "Today is ... that scared you." nor the output of <? phpinfo(); ?>

I give up ... what obvious clue am I not seeing?

check your httpd.conf file to be sure the php module is being loaded and that apache is handling .php files with the php module.

httpd.conf had been renamed httpd.conf~

apachectl restart errors-out (silently)

It doesn't appear that Apache is being started at boot (I just went the whole 9 yards to verify the apachectl error).

I renamed httpd.conf~ back to httpd.conf and verified that the addtype directives were present ... but I don't see anything for the modules. What are the module lines I need to add?

I don't see either http* or Apache listed in StartUp Services in drakconf. Uh oh, this doesn't look good.
