Help: Apache, PHP4, Mysql & rpms

hi there.

I have rh7 system and have been trying to install apache, php, mysql from the rpm's
off the cd.

Unfortunately i have since found that
php rpm doesn't have mysql support compiled into it.

I have tried installing from source and still
no luck. (for about a month now)

My question is, Are there any rpm's
available to get these working all nicely?
..and if so what versions?

I don't care if it has to be php3 or php4, just as long as i can start coding soon.
I cannot believe how hard it is too get these
three working in unison.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on the above matter i would greatly appreciate it.

i was in the same sit., i tried everything. The problem w/howto's is the versions they use are either out of date or difficult to follow for a newbie. GET NUSPHERE. one package to download and install, comes complete w/apache, php4, mysql, and perl

Better yet, try using the apachetoolbox (www.apachetoolbox.com). It is more current than the nusphere version and you'll be able to generate your own custom certificate with apachetoolbox.
