PHP+GD+Jpeg - Apache Fails - Why?

Hey All,

I ahve been trying to build PHP with GD+Jpeg all day... when ever I include jpeg, apache fails to restart.

GD makes and installs
PHP compiles / makes and installs
confirmed GD has jpeg installed
(bash$ nm libgd.a | grep GD_JPEG_VERSION

bash$ 00000004 r GD_JPEG_VERSION )
restart - Apache fails

Take --with-jpeg-dir out of the config and all runs fine

Argh!

Any Suggestions?

did you install the jpeg stuff seperately? i did this all a while ago and don't remember everything, but you need jpeglib or something.
