getting started on NT4/IIS4

Hi,

Having followed the setup instructions for php 4.0.5, a s imple test produces the following:

CGI Error

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

and nothing else.

Any suggestions?

1° Check if the NTFS permissions are correctly assigned to the directory containing php.exe (admin/system FC, IUSR/IWAM R at least)
2° Give the right permissions to the folder where the script resides and in the IIS admin console.
3° I usally forget the trailing "%s %s" so maybe you forgot too ;-)
4° Have you restarted the IIS ?

I have checked all of these and they'all OK.

I have created a new web folder called 'php' and put my tes.php file plus a straight html file in there.

I can open the straight html file but the other produces a 404 error.
