Mail authorization

hey

i have installed a Vbulletin board writen in php. the problem is that it uses sending e-mails often. the real issue is that i have to use my ISPs mailserver and this server requires authorization, and that i don't know how to setup in php.ini

can anyone help with this? (have been told to write my own mail() function, but i have no what so ever programming experiences besides batch programming 🙂

nice post...

my php4 goal is to set up a really nice flash message/bulletin board. i'm learning how to do this in flash, and have set up some of the basic mysql db tables etc..., and now need to write a lot of the php scripts.

i consider this phpbuilder board to be of top quality, and really want to aim for something like this, only with flash added to it...

can you offer any resources or ideas for this? did you write your message board yourself, or are you on a team that did it? what's your URL...?
