apxs unknow option -s

While trying to install php4.0.6 I get the following error

IF any one has any ideas on how to get rid of the -S option that would be great.

anybody figured this out yet? I am having the same problem on a RaQ3 Cobalt with PHP4.0.6

Found the answer, use PHP4.0.5. The answer is that the older versions of apache apxs helper aplication don't use the option S. 4.0.5 doesn't use it either.

I had the same problem. The php.net website say's to change a few variables in your /usr/sbin/apxs file, but it doesn't work for a Cobalt RaQ 3 with all the latest OS upgrades and patches. Disregard their fix and go with installing PHP-4.0.5.

Its an Apache Problem, You have to move up to Apache 1.3.12 in order to install 4.0.6. Luckly we were in the process of upgrading to a Raq4.
