Installing apache for LAN

I want to install apache in a LAN server and use this apache server from any workstation. Is it possible. Please help me. Thanks.

If by LAN you just mean a Local Area Network, then apache is a great choice. Do you already have a server that you want to install it on, or do you need to build one?

If you are going to build one, look at the different linux distros like redhat, mandrake, debian, et. al. which usually have apache/php and a database or two ready to install at the click of a button and are pretty easy to administer, even for most entry level sys admins.

Thanks for reply. Just now I use win98se. I have a LAN and Apache, PHP , MyQSL are installed in every workstation. I want to install apache only in my LAN server and then every workstation will be use this LAN / Apache server in same time.

For best performance, I'd build a simple little redhat linux box to do this, share out the drives with samba, and go. Performance and reliability of apache/php is much better under Linux than under Windows, and it's actually easier to compile packages under linux from source than trying to find a version of a dll that will work with php all the time.
