i simply typed ./configure in currently extracted php-4.0.6 and in the section Generating files, there were these lines:
creating pear/scripts/pear
sed: can't read ./pear/scripts/pear/pear.in: no such file or directory
creating pear/scripts/phpize
sed: can't read ./pear/scripts/pear/phpize.in: no such file or directory
creating pear/scripts/php-config
sed: can't read ./pear/scripts/pear/php-config.in: no such file or directory
.
.
.
creating pear/hakefile
cat: /usr/src/php-4.0.6/pear/hakefile.in: no such file or directory
.
.
.
.
before this, I completely removed apache and php, installed new apache and this ... what is wrong? do I need such *.in files? i'm sure I do, because after make, there is an error:
Making all in pear
make[1]: Entering directory '/usr/src/php-4.0.6/pear'
make[1]: No rule to make target 'all'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/php-4.0.6/pear'
make: [all-recursive] Error 1

and make install is stopped on pear allso.
