PDF file creation

Hi all!

I've been trying to use PDFlib and CPDFlib for creating dynamic PDF files with PHP.

The PDFlib version 4.0.0 worked fine, but "expired" in June. The new version 4.0.1 still works, but includes a huge banner message ("www.pdflib.com") making it unusable. I am a non-commercial user and (at this point) not able to spend $500 for a working library.

With CPDFlib I have the problem, that somehow any text content gets lost. The clock example works fine (no text), but the simple one which is supposed to write "Times-Roman Outline" does not.

Any suggestions?

This propbably won't help you, but it is funny that you are seeing the banner whereas I am not. I used outside libraries for jpeg, tiff and zlib, maybe thats why. hunh, this is interesting behaviour. can you just try to install jpeg, tiff and zlib separately and use them when you configure php?

One (crude) way to get PDF's without using PHP directly would be to make a temporary HTML file and pass it through Easy SW's HTMLDOC. You certainly don't have as much control of the layout of your document, but you also don't have to spend as much time messing with PDF.

How about compiling the source code(if you have it) but if you don't then try downloading it in www.pdflib.com. also download win32lib in php.net/win32lib there are instructions there so follow it. ok :>
