Migrating a PHP-based site

Greetings,

I have been asked by my client to let them know what would be involved in migrating a website from one server to another. The server is PHP-based and my experience has been in ASP/Access-based programming.

Can someone point me to a resource or a to-do list that will explain the major considerations in making such a move?

typically i tar up the web pages, and dump the mysql tables preferably using something like phpmyadmin (http://www.phpwizard.net/projects/phpMyAdmin/).

once the web pages are on the new box do a search and replace on all of the files for the old ip address & domain name to the new domain name.

with a bit of luck it should be as simple as that.
