PHP Pages served up as plain text?

I managed to get MySQL, Apache, and PHP up and running on my Solaris 8 sparc box.

I've installed PHPNuke, however when ever I access nameofpage.php, it is served up to my web browser as plain text.

I think I'm missing something simple, but can't seem to find it.

Also I'm unable to run the run-tests.php file as I'm not able to find the php executable. Am I missing this?

it is a problem related to your apache server not 'knowing' the extension.

in the httpd.conf file locate the relevant part and add .php (or anyother extension you wish.)
this will take care of it.

I realised I was modifying the wrong httpd.conf file.

I modified the correct one and well, I moved on to new problems 🙂

i am having this same problem, but i am sure that i am editing the right httpd.conf file. the only difference is that my httpd.conf file is located in /opt/local/apache/conf instead of /usr/local/apache/conf. does this make a difference? if so, is there a place where i should check if this path is correct?
