mysql error

Hello there please help me

I'm having linx with casp and mysql installed working fine

But I'm not able to use asp with mysql what should I do?

I'm also unable to use php with mysql

the errors I get are:"

with asp: "Driver not loaded!"

with PHP: "unable to connect to mysql server through /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock"

But the mysql.sock file is existing what should I do?

I don't know for MySql, but Postgres has to be started with a special swith ( -i ) to allow connections over TCP/IP.

You surely know that it might even have to be compiled to allow such connections ?

Is the mysql.sock file in the location where PHP expects it?

yes and where it is supposed to be in /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

Is the msql.sock file read/writeable for your user?

it is but the group it says it belongs to mysql group

try to set it 777. if that works, you can always try to change it to the right permissions. If this doesn't work yet, you know that's not the problem 🙂

is it the right version?

mysql.sock is created by mysql when it starts, it can't be the wrong version.
