OCI.dll Error @ Apache startup

We're running apache 1.3.14 on winnt 4.0 using php_oci8 and php_oracle
extensions. Every time we start Apache, we get the following error : Procedure entry point OCILobOpen could not be located in the dynamic link library OCI.dll. Oracle Installer indicates we have version 8.0.4.0.0 of call interface installed. Located the .dll and made sure it was in the path. (i.e. winnt40/system32). If we've got the wrong version of the OCI.dll, where can we get a later version? Any help appreciated.

With 8.0.4 oci.dll I had the same problem, than a change to 8.1.7 and now have other problem. PHP say that can\'t load oci.dll. I can send to you the oci.dll(8.1.6, 8.1.7) if you need. Send a mail, if you have success, cause I\'m having the same problem.

I have Winnt 4 and Oracle 8.06

I tried to replace the oci.dll with the 8.1.7 and now i had the following error: 'Error 2186: The Service is not responding to the control function'.

Are you having the same problem?

I am running Apache 1.3.20 with PHP 4.0.6 under Windows 2000. I've got exactly the same error message as you and can't manage to make it working.
I've read in some forums that using simultaneously the oci8 AND oracle libs may conflicts and that you should use one OR another and not both otherwise you would get our error message !

It might work for you, but for me this hasn't change a thing to remove the oracle (ORA) extension.

I think this comes from Oracle rather than PHP. Must we install an Oracle client for the OCI.dll lib to work, even if a server is already installed ? In this case, are the 2 OCI.dll files different ?

Problem is that OCI.DLL from 8.0.5 , 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 Oracle client can´t process OCILobopen , OCILobclose and so on functions , that php_oci8.dll from PHP build 4.0.6 and later needs . I tried 9.0.1 client , there are in OCI.DLL this functions implemented , but now was problem to connect to the database . Do this time I not resolved this problem .

.. Anybody got the solution already?
