Please help me. I'm trying to build in IMAP support under PHP in a RedHat 7 server-class installation. I've done it before successfully on an identical server, but this time I'm having no luck. Every How-To I read on the subject has me editing files like "inetd.conf", which I don't believe even exist under RedHat 7.
What would be very helpful to me is if someone could please give me a basic roadmap for how to install IMAP support under RedHat7 (UW IMAP or Cyrus -- I'm not picky), do basic config file edits (where necessary), and test the IMAP installation. I can take it from there, with the PHP support. Please tell me:
1) All packages that are necessary dependencies to get IMAP going? Versions would be great, if possible.
2) What lines to edit in config files for Sendmail, Apache, etc. to get basic IMAP functionality. Please give examples of the entries.
You'll be saving my life -- I'm runnig low on ideas. Thanks in advance.
