Adding DB Capabilities to Existing PHP

I currently have PHP 4.06 installed as an Apache module with Informix support. I'm also using Apache 1.3.20 and this is installed on Redhat 6.0.

I want to add PostgreSQL support to PHP. After reinstalling PHP, do I have to reconfigure and install Apache, too, or will it work as is?
