Problem with Windows 2000

Hi,

Our department (at the university) has just received two new computers with Windows 2000 on them. I would like to use it as a Web-server for some of my PHP scripts. I downloaded the software Abria Merlin, which is supposed to do all the installation stuff (Apache, PHP, MySQL and Perl). It does but when setup is complete and the computer hs finished rebooting, nothing happens. Apache won't start. I know the IP-adress and the name of the computer on the network as well. What modifications do I need to make in order to get Apach work on this computer? Please help! Thanks a lot.

I have had similar probs...

Do you get a prompt window open and then suddenly close?

If so..go and make a copy of the httpd.conf file from the apache dir and then re-install apache using the current version from the apache website making sure it goes into the same dir as the one you already have.

Then put back the httpd.conf file and give it another go.

quick fix.
