I am new to this and am just wanting to start learning about building my own server-based databases. I decided mySQL and PHP working together on Apache would be the most straightforward and least expensive apprach.
I installed Apache on a win2K machine and it seems to be installed correctly. (proper web page comes up when I type in 127.0.0.1 in my IE). I followed instructions in this book to configure Apache and set up mime types and all...then when I did this phpinfo() test and went to my new test.php test in a browser, instead of a web page coming up giving me version info. I got a dialog for me to save the file / open it as if the mime types were not understood or something.
