PHP ini

Hi,
I have been running PHP 4.06 for sometime

php info and server status

www.cpfc.org/status

However when I installed there was no php.ini created- This wasn't a problem until recently however now I need to alter some variables:

I have a couple of questions:

1) I installed with './configure' '--prefix=/usr/local/php' - does my php.ini need to go in /usr/local/php or in a subdir of that such as /usr/local/php/lib/php in order for php to pick it up?

2) Is there a way of creating a standard php.ini for my build 4.06? I understand that many people have issues with the php.ini.dist version that comes with the distribution

Your phpinfo() script says the ini file is /usr/local/php/php.ini ... have you looked there? If it's not there, have you stopped the server since discovering it missing?

Yeah I have just copied php-ini-dist in there and restarted APACHE

Looks good but I'm not sure that PHP is picking up the ini directives - can this be tested?

Hello,

I just had your exact same problem. if you are running win2k then you need to copy php-ini-dist in to the c:\winnt or whatever it says when you run php()info.

then when you make the changes it should be reflected in php()info
