Searching MySQL databases

I wan't to be able to seach for items in a MySQL database, I already have it working just fine but I need to be able to do loose searched and print out multiple finds. Are there any good sites or tutorials around about how to do more than just basic searched of MySQL databases. I have been looking for hours now with no luck.
