I just downloaded and installed RedHat 7.2. It installed (by default) PHP 4.0.6 with a ton of configure options, most of which I'll probably never use (e.g. '--with-pspell' '--with-openssl' '--with-mm' etc.). My question is whether configuring PHP with all these options slows down the execution of a script that doesn't even need these options? Better yet, are there ANY negatives to configuring PHP with every option under the sun?
