4.0.6 + iPlanet 4.1SP9 No worky

I can't get iPlanet to function. It tries to start up, however it gives me an error saying it is unable to find a file - which file, i don't know. A truss shows that it opens and loads libphp4.so fine - i couldnt see anything obviously failing. I've updated the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
