.php problem

when i make my php script on my computer using wordpad it always saves as somename.php.doc or somename.php.txt the somename meaning any name and i do have windows and PWS (Personal Web Server) and the php programs installed on my computer as my books says so but it cant get my .php to read as that. If i type in "somename.php" with the quotes it saves as somename.php but i cant open it! can you email me the anwser why plz. my email address is [e-mail]

hi Steven (looks like multiples);
It's better if you use notepad :-)
if the script extends 5000 characters (I think) It would ask you if you'd open
with wordpad or not (with notepad). -Steven
