I have a problem that should sound trivial to you Linux Guys but is driving me mad. You see in our office we have about 10 machines that are primarily on a peer to peer win9x/me/2k networking. Lately my computer crashed and since then I decided that enough was enough, install Linux on the damn thing. But that has brought its share of problems that we need to address now. Specifically:
1> I want my linux computer to share files and printers with other windows computers. Now before you start with samba and all here are a few pointers:
Our network is connected to the internet via DSL router. I am able to ping that router and even access the internet.
What I want is a network neighborhood kind of an interface where I should be able to move/copy/delete files from other computers and they from mine.
I do not repeat donot want this computer to function as ANY kind of a server. let us just say that it will be like my old machine but with Linux in place of win2k
2> In the previous setup i had iis, php and mysql installed on my machine and all the other machines used my machine to access our intranet through a web browser. I want to do the same through apache.
My setup is as follows.
PIII 700 with Red Hat Linux 7.1 full install and network ready. The rest of the machines are win9x/me/2k.
PLEASE I REALLY NEED TO SORT THIS ONE OUT ASAP .....
