Error about browscap.ini, can't fix

A little background:
Installed PHP4.1.0 onto a machine serving some test code with IIS5.1. When I goto a test PHP page in the web directory on my hard drive, I get the following error:

PHP Warning: Cannot open 'c:\winxp\system32\inetserv\browscap.ini' for reading in Unknown on line 0

The path it is installed on (verified with search) is:
C:\WINXP\system32\inetsrv\browscap.ini.

Is this just a case issue? If so, where must I edit the text?

Do a search on "browscap" in php.ini. The directive is in the file. If XP follows true to the previous MS pattern though I don't think it's case sensitive (might be if your c:\ drive is NTFS). HTH.

hmm, this c: partition has both XP and 98se on it - negative on the NTFS. I wanted to be able to use the partition with both XP and 98 (this is a trial run for me with XP).

I'll check out the php.ini and see what case that is in, change it to see what is up. Thanks for the reply. I'll keep you posted how it works out.

Hey Geoff-

Just following up on your post. I went to php.ini and checked out the path listed within to browscap.ini and there was a small typo, misspelled initsrv. 🙂

Fixed the typo, no errors with PHP pages now.
