installing SuSE LINUX 7.2

i have partitioned my hard drive to five separate partitions. two of the partitions are wins 2000 and XP.

Whwn i install the LINUX i get through the boot disk but i dose not recognizes other empty partitions and is asking if i want to format my hard drive.

what should I do!!

Hi Masoud,

You created your 5 partitions using fdisk, which is Microsofts tool...

Go back into fdisk, and remove those partitions that you are NOT using for your 2000 and XP installations... Don't try to configure them as DOS or FAT partitions, or for another O/S, using Microsofts tool...

Try getting Mandrake Linux 8.1 or 8.0 it has a nice partition tool at install time. It will even allow you to resize existing windows partitions. Boot the disk, go up until the partition table get set. Change thing around so they are no longer vfat, but ext2, ext3, Reiser or whatever. Commit changes and format only the Linux partitions. Once you get to select the packages to install reboot. Insert you SuSE disk and install linux. The new partitions will show up. BTW you only need the first Mandrake disk (boot) for this.
