PHP4 and mysql problem

I setup php4 and mysql on Windows2000
and they work fine separately, but when i try
to establish a connection with mysql from within php4, it doesn't work. my php4 is setup as ISAPI module and php4 is supposed to have built-in support for mysql. What to you think I should double-check?

What specific error messages are you getting?.. Have you looked at phpinfo() to look at your mysql support information?

Create a phpinfo.php file that just contains this code and call it from a browser... And check the MySQL section.
