Hi Folks, I'm really desperate.
It's now my third day (and night) I spend trying to install GDLIB with Freetype support on a LAMP System (SusE 7.2, PHP4.06, Apche 1.3.22, MYSQL 3.2347). I tried all combinations of 4 different versions of gdlib and Freetype and none did work properly. My last experience was to try out the following: gdlib 2.01 with Freetype 2.05. After some difficulties I finally finshed the installation and compilation with PHP. But when I tried to start Apache, I got this message:
"Cannot load /usr/local/apache/1.3.22/libexec/libphp4.so into server: /usr/local/lib/libgd.so: undefined symbol: FT_New_Face"
as a result, the server cannot start.
What the hell went wrong?
Did anyone else make the same experience?
Has this problem a solution?
Is anyone out there?
